The Carolina Hurricanes unveiled the team’s new jerseys on Thursday. Included on the right breast of the new RBK Edge jerseys is a 10th anniversary patch (above) commemorating the team’s move from Hartford in 1997 to North Carolina.
You can read more about the jerseys and see a photo gallery here:
The uniforms follow the NHL-prescribed streamlined design, but otherwise have few changes. NHL teams have been unveiling new jerseys team by team the last few weeks, most of them with minor changes. For the Canes, the only changes (besides the patch) are a single line of piping across the chest and the addition of the silver NHL logo below the collar of the jersey (which every team has included).
Reebok debuted the new style of NHL jerseys at last season’s all-star game. They feature a sleeker design and material that handles sweat better.
The Hurricanes begin training camp on Sept. 14, with the first pre-season game Sept. 16 at the RBC Center (against the Washington Capitals) and begin the regular season at home Oct. 3 against the Montreal Canadiens.
