Hockey Stuff: Marek Malik’s Crazy Shootout Goal

We were talking about former Carolina Hurricane Marek Malik last night while watching the Canes lose to Philly in overtime. Malik, who now plays for the New York Rangers, is a defenseman who got a lot of grief from Carolina fans for his lack of physical play. He’s 6-foot-5, but doesn’t have a big-hitting style…still, as a stay-at-home defenseman, was always a solid player.

This video, from a 15th-round shootout during the 2005-06, has to be seen to be believed…it’s one of my favorites.
