You might notice that our “info box” on page 2 of each edition of The Herald says that we publish daily except Mondays and Christmas. We’ve traditionally not published on Christmas Day in order to give our employees a day to be with their families, but this year – since Christmas falls on the day after Monday, a day we don’t publish – we are publishing a special Christmas Day edition.
Technically it’s a break with our publishing schedule but it’s not really a break with our practices. Our offices will still be closed on Christmas Day (in fact, as I write this on Christmas Eve, we’re preparing to close early), but our staff is here busily preparing to go to press early (VERY early) with our Christmas Day edition. The edition will be off the presses very early this evening (Dec. 24, even though it’s dated Dec. 25) and our carriers will deliver it beginning this evening.
Our normal office hours and schedule will resume Wednesday.
On behalf of our dedicated staff of employees and our carrier force, I’d like to wish you a wonderful Christmas and a blessed holiday.
