Hockey Stuff: Canes’ Lead Extends to 7 Points

The Carolina Hurricanes have won seven of their last eight games, extending their points lead in the Southeast Division to seven over the Washington Capitals. With 11 games left in the season, the team’s playoff picture is looking better and better – especially with Washington (with 12 games remaining) dropping two games over the weekend.

Washington’s 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday was particularly heartbreaking for the Caps. You can see why here… Good for Carolina, though, which goes back on the ice Wednesday at Chicago.
