Center Matt Cullen was activated from injured reserve today by the Hurricanes. Cullen, who has missed the team’s last seven games with a head injury, is eligible to play in tonight’s game against Tampa Bay. He’s struggled this season to recover from concussion-like symptoms.
Despite missing more than 20 games, he’s scored 13 goals and earned 36 assists (49 points) in 57 games for Carolina this season, ranking second on the team in assists (36) and tied for fourth on the team in points (49).
Justin Williams, who returned last night after missing 43 games following knee surgery, suffered a “back concern” in the first period. He played just 3:48 and is likely to miss tonight’s game against the Lightning.
