Caps Lose in Heartbreaker

FLYERS GET GOAL IN OT | Washington’s magical season ends

The Washington Capitals won their last seven games in a row and 11 of their last 12 to sneak past the Carolina Hurricanes to win the NHL’s Southeast Division crown. You’ve gotta love Alexander Ovechkin, the Caps’ leader and star, for his passionate (and superb) play down the stretch.

The Caps and the Philadelphia Flyers met in Round 1 of the Eastern Conference playoffs; the deciding Game 7 was last night. I’ve been pulling hard for the Caps even though most of us Canes fans hate them during the regular season. I got home last night from our forum in time to watch the game go into overtime. It was heartbreaking to see Philly score on a questionable power play to win the game and the series.

You can watch the highlights above. For dicussion about the questionable penalty call that led to the goal, read the blog of Adam Proteau of The Hockey News by going here.
