What’s the deal with the Scrabble tile in the title section of your blog?
When I started work at The Herald in 1985, we had several folks named “Bill” – including my dad, grandfather and our editor at the time, Bill Hodges. So Virginia Vick, a long-time employee, began calling me “B-3.” It stuck. Some folks who have known me for a long time call me that, and Dr. Marvin Joyner, former president of CCCC, even shortened it – he always just said, “B.” As far as the Scrabble tile…I love Scrabble, and am a decent player. The letter “B” tiles in Scrabble are indeed worth 3 points…
